For optimum performance when racing, the engine requires tuning before, while racing and afterwards. Like everything, the more you look after it the better it will go and the longer it will last.</p><p>To clean and maintain your buggy, you use a chemical called denatured alcohol but very careful you get none on the electronic parts as the alcohol is very potent and can damage the parts of paintwork. If you are a truly dedicated rc car racer, you can go one futher and try other brands and makes of chemicalbut each one is different results wise and price.</p><p>If you do not want to use a full amount of alcohol solution, there are spray alternatives which can be used which have a nozzle which directs the alcohol precisely onto the area. Alternatively use a application tool to get into those small and delicate areas. Depending on the model, depends on how well it starts. You can buy compressed bottled air to blow off any loose dirt or dust, especially for areas you find hard to clean. These are the same type of cans you get to clean out PC's where a computer fan has built up an amount of dust. The air can be a great help, but is not adisable to use for the whole car as a can only has a limited amount of gas.</p><p>The next best option is a air compressor which can be pricey but is worth its weight in gold. A good combination is to use green solution, water and a small amount of alcohol again with a cloth or application device. The best proportion of liquids is 5:1 so green alcohol to water, making sure you clean the bearings, wheels, suspension and other hard to reach parts and drying off with the compressed air.</p><p>Do not apply to much as when you go to dry it with the air, liquid can drip onto the electronic parts we already advised to avoid.
