Nobody likes mosquitos, flies, and other small biting creatures that attack them when participating in their favorite outdoor activity. We have many remedies from herbal to traditional mass produced remedies. These remedies include things for before, during, and after to alleviate, and prevent issues that can develop while in the great outdoors. There is also the opportunity to stay inside which increases our likelihood of becoming couch potatoes instead of healthy, active, mobile individuals.
Still, being prepared is important to enjoying any outdoor activity. Have you ever noticed that people can not find a screwdriver or tweezers when outdoors? We have whole drawers for. or well organized shops at home, yet when they are out at their favorite lake, or shopping invariably they need something that isn't readily available. The random splinter from the picnic bench can become a source of annoyance that can dampen the day as quickly as the random thunderstorm. For those of us who wear glasses, when that screw falls out of our eyeglasses we begin to look like a colonial era lawyer as we hold our glasses to our face with one hand while trying to read a map or a book with the other. Often on long bicycle rides on extreme tracks or in the woods bicyclist and hikers stop to check their very compact maps using lightweight yet bulky compasses. A compact light tool that included these items with other helpful things while being compact and light enough would be a real boon to our summertime outdoor activity.
In our society of ever increasing mobility and physical activity it isn't possible to carry everything we need in the ever shrinking sized back packs, belly packs, or purses. In fact, most individuals of either gender who are participating in their favorite outdoor activity don't have anything big enough to carry these items. As a secondary reason, why carry that extra weight around?
In addition, carrying a traditional pocket knife or multi-tool in running shorts or a bicycle jacket can be cumbersome at best and dangerous at worst. The bulk and weight of the traditional swiss army knife or multi-tool makes it a likely implement to leave at home safe and secure with all the other tools, when we actually need it outdoors during one's activities.
The technological answer for the 21st century to these difficult and annoying situations is the techno tool card. This nifty little customizable pocket knife includes a Knife Edge, Compass, Magnifier, Tweezers, Flathead Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver, Can Opener, and Bottle Opener, all in a plastic case that fits snugly into your wallet, bicycle or running jacket. It can even fit into the top of your tube socks.
So, even though the mosquitos, bees, chiggers, and other biting things will still be there, at least by carrying the techno tool card you won't get lost, be unable to open that can of your favorite beverage or be annoyed by that random splinter.
Have Fun!
