If you are new in internet and you want to make money online, there is a chance that you believe that finding a mentor will speed you up. You then go to several internet seminars. Normally, such seminars give you sale pitch at the end. You may want to buy some coaching program after you are convinced by the speakers. However, you don't know how to avoid internet scams and hoaxes since you are so new to the internet. This article will give you some story of what I encountered when I bought a coaching program in a seminar and fell completely into internet scams and hoaxes.
Last year, I attended an internet seminar. The seminar took me into buying a package including an internet workshop and a membership site. I thought to myself that workshop should be good. And they told me to prepare a lot of things. I thought I should be able to accomplish many things out of the workshop. This package alone cost me several thousand dollars. When I joined the workshop, I found out that it is another kind of pitch festival. The sale was even harder but I was so new to internet marketing at that time. I did not really focus on pitching but instead was trying to learn from the speakers.
At the end of the workshop, there was a big coaching program sold at the price of ten thousand dollars. They said they would launch an affiliate program. They promised to put some good marketers below you so that you can enjoy the commission from their effort. You could also earn commission from your own sale. They would teach you everything to reach six or seven figures a year. They would even refund you with the money you paid when you achieve that point by deduction ten per cent out of your sale. You will get your ten grand back. Sound great, isn't it? Lesson one in the internet marketing is if it is true good to be true, stay away from it. It is just another one of the internet scams and hoaxes.
Along with other 50 people in the room, I rushed to the podium and bought the package. I was so excited that I would be rich being taught by one of the famous internet marketers. A month later, the lesson started. They sent me a piece of paper with ten steps of blogging and pinging. They gave me the WordPress themes and tell you to select one.All fifty people promote the same product. This product is opened to the public also. They only put two marketers under two of their favorite students and they earned a few bucks from commission of their super-affiliates.
They told us to write articles onto the blog and start posting all around the net without telling you what spam is. At the end, I spammed a lot of people and I did not know that. I earn a few commissions but it is so small and not comparable to my investment. They even asked you to make testimonials to their program in exchange with the pay-per-click campaign which they will pay it for you. They asked us to make testimonials in writing, audio and video. Hold on, this is not the example of one of the internet scams and hoaxes.
The worst part is that when some people raised the question on the program, they said they would not accept complaints. They put all the blames back to the students and refused to give the refund. They said that the students were not successful because they did not take action. It was the students fault and they were not responsible in it.
As negative as this story may sound, it is my good learning experience. Internet scams and hoaxes can be found in a lot of places and I need to be careful. After the incidence, my investment is a lot wiser and more effective.
