For the past couple of days I have been eagerly waiting a much anticipated Page Rank update and I guess that is why I am writing this post. Every couple of months Google will update Page Rank and this is something that can dramatically improve your search engine traffic, but it can also do more for your web page! Today I am going to be listing 6 Easy Ways to Increase your Page Rank, but first I am going to explain what it is for those who don't already know.
PR (Page Rank) is a numbered value between 0-10 that is given to a web page based on the amount of links pointing in its direction. To put it simply, a page with one thousand links pointing to it should have a higher PR than a page with only ten. Page Rank; however, is not calculated solely on the amount of inbound links but also on their quality.
For example: A page like this about making money online with incoming links from other 'make money' blogs will produce a higher PR than a bodybuilding website with the exact same incoming links from those same websites. The reason that they are worth more in the first case is because they belong to the same niche and the links are considered higher quality because they are deemed relevant by search engines.
The great thing about Page Rank is that it is widely accepted as a measurement of a web site's potential! In my opinion, the best thing about a high PR is that you can sell ad space on those pages easily.. Most people will agree that it is safer to buy advertising space or text links on a higher PR page as opposed to a page with a low PR. I would say that a PR3 is average and anything above that should be monetized! A solid PR6 web page is probably what you should be aiming for because it is within reach.. but it will still take a lot of work on your part, and will not come overnight!
So now that you know the basics about Page Rank, I am going to be giving you a couple ways that you can increase your PR over time that doesn't require too much effort. Here it is:
1. Submit to Search Engine Directories.
The great thing about submitting your web site to search engine directories is the fact that a good percentage of them are free! You can auto-submit your web page to thousands of directories with some quality services online, but I suggest that you just submit your pages manually because it is more cost efficient and will look more natural to search engines.
2. Submit to Article Directories.
To build quality backlinks to your web page you can write relevant articles between 300-600 words in length that you can submit to the many article directories that exist on the internet. This not only gives you the ability to build a quality backlink, but you can also capture many interested readers with your captivating articles, right?
3. Leave Comments on Do-Follow Blogs.
Leaving Comments on blogs is probably one of the easiest way to build a massive amount of backlinks! The best thing to do is to find other blogs within your niche and read their posts... after reading you will be equipped with the knowledge to leave good honest feedback which can create a relationship between webmasters and will also create a quality backlink to your page!
4. Create Social Bookmarking Profiles.
There are so many Social Bookmarking websites that are readily available to exchange thoughts & ideas, interests and even business! Create a profile on various Social Bookmarking pages to promote your website... not only does it give your business exposure but it will also create another good backlink!
5. Post in Forums.
The great advantage to posting in Forums is that there are people going through pages every day. If there are thousands of people flying through posts on a forum then there are a couple who are bound to see the link in your signature and give it a click! The signature link is displayed every single time you post so you can potentially creates thousands of backlinks! Obviously only a couple of them will do anything for your PR but the traffic you can receive from the forums alone is worth it! Building a reputation at popular forums can be one of your best moves!
6. Practice Internal Linking.
The more links pointing towards a specific page gives that page more authority compared to a page with less incoming links. An easy way to increase the value of a page's authority is to link to it from other pages within your website! This tells search engines that the page is more important because it has more links pointing to it and will pass on some link juice!
Also you should always be careful before creating outbound links to other web pages. You could be penalized for linking to websites with PR0 or those that aren't relevant to your niche! Make sure that you have more inbound links than outbound links just to be safe and please avoid spamming!
