We like it when people praise us and we don't like it when people condemn us. The secret to your spiritual growth comes when you become immune to both the praise and the condemnation. The law of attraction is at work at all times and it comes into play when you are concerned about the opinion of others.

The main problem that the good or bad opinions of others has for most sleepwalkers is that, no matter what the opinion is, it directly affects the ego. Our conditioning that causes us to believe ourselves to be separate tells us that it is important to allow the ego to rule our lives. The ego thrives on the concept that we are all separate from each other and separate from God. The ego maintains its power base from every fear-based decision that we make.

If somebody praises us, the ego is there to take the credit. If somebody condemns us the ego is there to refute and justify any and all actions that may have caused this condemnation. So whether the words spoken by others are words that convey a good opinion of us or form a bad opinion of us, the ego is more than willing to receive the praise or disclaim the unflattering analysis.

Either of these choices adds energy to the opinion. This expenditure of energy as service to the ego does not serve us in our overall quest to be the grandest version of the greatest vision ever we held about who we are.

The course of action that would serve us better would be to give these good or bad opinions of others no energy. We would be better served if we were immune to the good or bad opinions of others. This immunity would allow us to not be influenced one way or the other as to how we might react to these powerful spoken words.

By "being immune to the good or bad opinion of others" we could more easily "stay the course" in our own chosen path towards the vision that serves us.

Remember, we only have control of what is internal to us. If we wish to influence others, we must do it by example. Every thought, every word and every deed that you experience tells the world about who you have chosen to be. You are in the continuous process of defining yourself and the world you see is a reflection of who you chose to be.

This is really your only mission. To define and experience yourself as who you choose to be in every present moment of now. What a noble quest. You have a vision of who you choose to be and then you continually move towards that vision.

As you assimilate and become your vision, you create the next grandest version of your vision. Then you continue on and move towards that vision. It is a never-ending process of creation. It is the process of life. It is the process of love. It is the process of God, godding.

What is required here is clarity of purpose in your desire to become your vision. The good or bad opinions of others distract you from this desire and do not serve you in your journey.

The good or bad opinions of others, as they relate to you, have no relevance to your quest other than to assuage or antagonize your ego. In the same manner, when you expend your energy by talking about other people, and making good or bad opinions of others, you are not serving yourself.

Once again you are serving your ego, which delights in any action that re-enforces the separation mentality. These exercises in judgment and gossip not only do not serve you, but they take up your valuable energy for a cause that has no return on its investment of energy and actually produces mental constructs that block any positive energy that wants to come through.

Words spoken as gossip need to be defended when the victims of our mindless opinions come back to us with demands for explanations or retaliations upon our own character. Does this serve you?

True clarity of purpose is essential if you desire to stay true to your intention of becoming your vision. You have to keep the vision in the forefront of your thinking and your speaking. Remember, our thoughts and our words have powerful creative properties, so they need to be used with conscious direction and intent.
