We all like to dress up if we have a reason for doing it, but there is nothing more comfortable than a nice pair of jeans. An evening meal might call for a suit and tie, but you would be forgiven for feeling slightly overdressed if you were just meeting a friend for lunch.
The key to choosing the right outfit for the occasion is to think about the different items of clothing you have available. If you match a smart top with a more relaxed looking pair of trousers, for example, you can create a whole new look that will fit in wherever you might be going.
It's sometimes the case that you will want to dress to impress and that's fine, so you should always consider where you are going and who you are meeting first. This will give you some useful pointers as to what point on the scale your attire will need to fit into. You might think a suit and tie is the only option for a business meeting, but if you are self employed and you are in a creative business you wouldn't necessarily be expected to dress in such a manner.
A stylish shirt coupled with a pair of smart jeans or chinos has a timeless quality about it that always hits the spot. If you really want to keep up with the current trends you should keep up with what colours are popular at the moment, while casual neutral tones will always work well with a smart, casual look if you are unsure of what suits you best.
One of the more modern ways to dress up otherwise casual attire is to use waistcoats to help smarten up your appearance. This is also an ideal choice in warmer weather, when a heavy coat will be too warm to wear. A waistcoat can be worn over the top of a shirt and thanks to it having no sleeves you can keep it on without overheating.
Waistcoats are also very trendy and mark you out as someone who likes to keep up with developments in the fashion world. And you haven't just got the choice of a basic design either - some of the latest designs have double breasted features and various button designs which make them extremely eye catching and very smart to wear - even when coupled with a pair of your favourite jeans.
Of course the best outfit for you will be the one you feel most comfortable in, and waistcoats are traditionally very comfy to wear. You can also buy a range of colours and styles to suit your character and appearance, and they can finish off an outfit perfectly with little effort at all.
