The Millennials! A Super Hero Generation:
In discussing his upcoming new book 'Hot, Flat and Crowded' New York Times foreign policy columnist, Thomas Friedman, said we need a new green ideology and a new green president to mobilize liberals and conservatives, evangelicals and atheists, big business and environmentalists to pull us together and propel us forward to level with the American people about the profound economic, geopolitical and climate threats posed by our addiction to oil.
Friedman is right. However, no degree of environmental know-how will help a president who doesn't have the backing of technologically savvy activists to consolidate a critical mass. The Millennials are a global generation of socially networked, digitally wired wizards who can drive Green capitalism and get rich while saving the planet and humanity, too.
As JFK said, We can not stay behind and lead. A nation of courage leads the world on the most critical issues of our time. Today with another species going extinct every 20 minutes that means the environment.
The Millennials have the heart to transform the planet, and the sense to enjoy life while they're doing it, too. As with, Thomas Jefferson, one of America's most brilliant and Founding Fathers and presidents--their beverage of choice is wine. Jefferson considered wine the civilizing drink to launch new enterprises, critical to health and he stated his own encouragement of wine drinking was a greater service to the American people than if he'd paid the national debt.

As a daughter of The Greatest Generation, and one of the idealistic Baby Boomers who helped make this nation the richest in history, I have faith in America's newest Hero Generation.
