We understand the five physical sense as sight, sound, taste, smell and touch. The three internal senses can be developed with practice and the help of a good teacher to guide you. It is rather like a wine taster, when he is developing his palate or a chef when he is learning to blend flavours in new recipes, they both have to develop the physical sense of taste and can benefit from guidance in their initial development.
Learning to see pictures with inner perception is hard if you are a person who finds visualisation difficult. To overcome this I suggest you use guided meditation tapes which give detailed pictures to visualise as you listen. If you use the same tape over and over again, you will learn to create the pictures easily. Another exercise is to try to see blotches of colour at the back of the retina. It is possible to do this if you relax and concentrate on colour. Simple exercises like these will help you to develop your internal eye which is the sense called clairvision. The only way you succeed at anything is with practice.
To develop the internal perception of sound and word you have to learn to listen on a deep level. Again I would use meditation tapes, this time a tape on sound such as a mantra or toning. You need to listen to the rhythm and the beat
Another excellent exercise is to listen to your heart beat and also your breathing. When you concentrate on your breathing you can slow the mind. When you are able to maintain a silent mind you are in mastery of self. Listening to silence is brilliant for developing the internal sense of clairaudience. This takes practice too.
Clairsentience is the internal sense of feeling. This is the classic and most obvious perception to develop rather like sight. We continuously use this sense, it's that 'gut' feeling. How often you hear people say "Oh, I had a feeling that would happen." This internal sense is the easiest to develop, all you have to do is pay attention to the feelings within your body. As you start to focus on this sense of perception, write events down. When you get them right you will learn to identify the accuracy of your intuition. This is fun as you realise "Hey, I was right." You need to consciously practice this.
Tuning in to Spirit Energy is only an extension of the three faculties, you can access this energy field through the clairsentience. You blend all three internal senses and end up with a sense of knowing. It becomes easier as you learn to trust yourself. However I would like to point out you do need to have a teacher to help you at this stage. I don't recommend you undertake this development on your own, as you need to be able to assess and assimilate what you are receiving.
