Here I am going to write a set of article that explain how to promote your website. I am going to show you how to get your business website on the first pages of Google. These articles are going to be written in parts and this is part 1.

Keep in mind that I am not an expert at SEO if there really is such a thing since Google Acronym's change all the time...These are just some basic steps anyone can do! And since I am doing it, it is getting a lot of pages of my many sites on Google's first page. I am not doing this with any illegal step called black hat methods, but rather in a step by step workout process. SEO data changes all the time, but at this time this is working. This all comes from my experience.

So let's begin!

Now first you have to have some basic SEO (Search engine optimization) on your site. But before we get to that, for a small online business owner that has one or ten sites, these sites need to be niche sites. For example: Halloween, Dog Pet Store, Or a Cat Pet Store. These kind of stores are going to be easier to rank high for, compared to the shopping type malls that are very hard and take a lot of time to get on the First Page Of Google!

So your first step needs to be to find a niche market, a market within a large market because a pet store is very generic store, while a cat pat store is a lot more narrow (niche is a smaller market of a big market) and when you have a niche market you know exactly who your target audience is! Cat Pet Lovers for example is a very good niche market! These people like to know everything there is about their cat and they love to shop for their pet.

The reason this is so important is because you know whom you are marketing to. Second these people are going to remember your website because it gives them one stop shop for everything they need for their pet and they need a lot of stuff and as we know, most pet owners just go overboard with spending. They even want a treadmill for their pet now days.

You will also have to have a quality content (we will talk about content later) on your website on different products and trainings they can do with their pat. This all makes them remember and bookmark your website. When there is a niche store, they tend to stay there longer and also come back to it later on.

So the type of website or the niche market is very important. This comes from my experience and here is the reason I say this. Originally I had 2 blog's. The first blog was about anything you can think of and another one was about specific software training. The first one never got any repeat visitors, while the other one constantly keeps on getting traffic and visitors. The second blog is a niche type of website blog and that is why it is so active and popular! On my first blog, I could not get on the first page of Google no matter what, but on the second one, without any problems.

So sit down and make sure you really select a niche market for your website. Don't combine dogs and cats, you are better of having two websites in that case than one. Now let's think of this as your first lesson and before we move onto the next one, sit down and make sure that you know exactly what your site is going to be about! Because we really need to establish the niche website before we can move onto getting your site on the first page of Google. Stay put for the part two of getting your site on the Google's First page.
