In a monsoon evening, he along with his two three friends was waiting for the train, which connects the city to his native, some 150 Kms away, the train is due to arrive in 5-10 minutes. Since it is a connecting train, lots of commuters gathered in the platform for travelling to their homes after a day's tiredness and disarray. All the people wish to be at their home desperately, as their kids, their husbands, their wives are waiting for them at their homes. Most of them work in the city as government servants, in private offices, small time sales persons, students, occasional travellers and the likes, their eyes impatiently stick on the tracks for the impending arrival of the train. They all experience the routine scuttle, odor, colour and patterns of the ordinary Indian railway stations, to most of them; these are part of their lives, for the last so many. Like in any other such places, the murmur of the flocks disturbs the tranquility.

At long last, the train arrived at the station, all the commuters hurriedly started to push through the door for getting ingress into the train and for an immediate arrangement of a comfortable seat. He and his friends were able to get accommodated in their seats in the crowded compartment as well, there were college students, boys, girls, middle aged aunts, smart guys, uncles, older gentlemen and all the similar kind, they as usual engaged themselves in their activities of reading, talking, gossiping and even some started to take a nap. He also involved himself in a conversation about various current events specially the ongoing IPL Premier League and the performance of different players, the tourney is reaching its conclusion.

The sky was covered with clouds and it seemed to be in the brink of an impending rain, it is natural in the monsoon, the air carries the aroma of the soaked mud, presenting a romantic atmosphere, indicating that there is raining somewhere near, as expected, in 10 minutes it started to rain, initially small drops and gradually started to pour in from the sky with thunder and lightning, announcing the opening up of floodgates of the sky, the rain presented a scene of laying silky threads like small silver beams from the sky to the earth, people felt the cool breeze get into from outside the train.

There was sitting an older gentleman with his son, he is a young lad in his late 20s, he was sitting near a window, looking outside, he enormously thrilled to see such a climate, he often shouted to his father and loudly said, "Pappa, see the scenery outside, very beautiful, isn't", sometimes, he was clapping, laughing with joy, as if something strange happen outside the train, as if he sees the moving train and raining outside first in his life, his childish excitement amused the people around him. Seeing his enthusiasm and spirit insist the people to look outside; but they could not see anything novel, the same old scene, the dull, cold and cloudy atmosphere while it is raining, they often experience in the monsoon season, for the last so many years, in the morning and in the evening, all the same routine. They are also not in the mood to entertain themselves as they are very eager to reach at their homes, to see their kids, wives, husbands, elder parents etc.

Amused by the lad's enjoyment, some began to smile, some started to stare at him, as these were not expected from a grown up man at his 30, a saree clad girl smiled and grumbled to her friends; "think, he is mad", her friends also smiled mockingly at him. But unaware and unaffected of this, he again and again exclamatorily cried with joy when he sees the houses and trees, which were moving backwards and then out of the sight, suddenly.

Now the rain hits the earth with its full spirit, the wind caught its momentum and the rain water begun to enter the compartment, one by one every windows closed in, except one window, where the excessively delighted young chap seated. He did not shut the window, which irritate young gals and they angrily shouted; "pull the window down, please", he neither heed to this request nor pretended to be heard. Some of the teenaged boys immediately offer their sympathy and helping hands to the girls, they shouted together; "Idiot, shut the windows immediately, or...", they sprung towards him with rage.

One gentleman even enquired the father, "how long he has been behaving like this", even someone suggested; "such people should be kept safely, rather to let loose", they thought he is mentally retarded and before making any harm to other people, he should be kept under control. Our commuter and his friends also started to move to this young fellow, not angered, but by amusement of what is going to happen, they did not enter the bandwagon, they were just onlookers, but just the anxiousness kept us to look at it.

Seeing the raged people, the older man, his father started to explain to the people in the compartment; "Actually, we were coming directly from a hospital, he was admitted to a hospital and today morning he was discharged, he born blind and in last week only we could manage to get a pair of eyes and could operate his eyes, these scene is new to him, he sees this only from today morning, I apologize for his excitement, you may please forgive us".

Suddenly a quietness engrossed in the compartment, a shell shock mounted up on the faces of girls, boys and other folks, all the faces are lowered with heartrending guilt, all eyes are blinked with shyness, nobody utter a single word till the end of their journey, only the 'chuck, chuck sound of the wheels breaks the silence ......................
