How much money do you spend each month at work, what a stupid question you may say.
Not really folks, it's a given that you will have travel costs whether it be by car bus or train. Think about this are you fit, do you live reasonably close to work, or if you are not fit how about making yourself so.
As I have said if you are not to far from work, invest in a bicycle everyone is on a winner the environment, your health, and of course that pocket as well folks.
Another massive saver for you will be lunches, do you dash out every day and queue in some shop or other waiting for something to eat.
Of course you do but why, there are literally hundreds of different pack up lunches you could make, sure some will involve a bit of time but others take seconds to do.
* One of my favourite sandwiches does not even involve any meat, it is dead simple to make and above all healthy. Use bread that you really like any type, will do my personal favourite is a ciabatta or better still two. Butter the bread, add lettuce tomato and cucumber, I will sometimes use grated carrot as well, a liberal squeeze of salad cream or mayonnaise and there you have it a really tasty sandwich for very little cost.
You are well on your way to five a day, as recommended. Another way I like to make my sandwich that bit more special is to add a drop or two of Worcester sauce, I know not too everyone's taste but it is mine.
* Another inexpensive sandwich is of course egg mayonnaise, a bit of a foible in England because we generally use salad cream to make it.
This will make two really good sandwiches, three hard boiled eggs chopped up, a big squirt of salad cream, or mayo this depends on your taste salt and pepper. An easy way to mix these ingredients together is to use a potato masher. Butter the bread, lay lettuce on it then liberally spread the egg mayo on to the lettuce "delicious".
You see there is nothing difficult about any of these sandwiches, and if you can save a few bob go for it.
Another brilliant cheap sandwich that is absolutely gorgeous, is egg curry you must try this one out folks.
* Hard-Boiled Eggs -- Chopped
Curry Powder -- To Taste
Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
Mayonnaise or salad cream as Needed
Directions:
Chop the eggs very fine and season with curry, salt & pepper. Add enough mayonnaise or salad cream to hold the eggs together. Spread on bread.
Now you realise how cheaply you can make some of these sandwiches, save yourself a fortune, take a pot of yoghurt and a piece of fruit to work with you, and you are set up for the day.
Enjoy folks.
