In how many ways can we make money from misspellings on the internet? This may surprise you but many people are actually able to monetize from the http://words.misspelt.org>misspelled words of others or by mistyping keywords on purpose. Let us explore some of the ways and techniques.

MISSPELLED EBAY AUCTION ADS

This is not an old method of making extra money via typos made by others. It is known that eBay(TM) does not have any spell checking mechanism for their listings.

Imagine you are looking for a Canon digital camera. If you search for the words 'Canon digital camera', you will get a long list of correctly entered Canon listings. The prices for these listings would obviously be competitive. However, what if you try a typo variation of the search string such as 'Cannon' digital camera? If you are lucky, you may find one or two auctions listed, and with very few bids, if any. Other than bragging to your friends that you got a good bargain on your new Canon camera from eBay, you can simply resell that same digital camera and make extra money! What if you can duplicate that method for hundreds or thousands of items on eBay?

There are many ways people can make spelling mistakes. A person could have Skipped a letter, typed double letters, reversed letters, skipped spaces or even missed a key. When listing an 'AberCrombie' pants, a user can mistype the word as Abercormbie, Abercrombi, Abercrmbie, Abercrombei and hundreds more different misspellings. Do not forget that even the word 'pants' can be misspelled too.

Well the key to getting a good bargain and making money reselling on ebay is to try all these combinations of misspellings. As a start, you can try using the Online Word Misspell Tool at http://words.misspelt.org

MISSPELLS IN WEBSITES AND BLOGS

Once, I had one of my blog pages about Jessica Simpson was getting extra ordinary hits for an unknown reason. A thorough check of the log files revealed that the traffics were coming from the search engines for a misspelled word. One of my visitors comment had mistyped the word Jessica Simpson as Jesica Simpson. Apparently, every person hitting the page had typed the same spelling into Google. I had Google Adsense on the page at that time but there are many other ways to monetize the traffic.

Some bloggers purposely include typos into their blogs. This is not really my style. I am sure you don't want to downgrade your blog or website quality with misspellings. So how include the typos without affecting the quality of your page content? A simple section at the bottom of your page saying 'People have found this page from these words too: Jessica Simpsons, Jesica Simpson' shouldn't hurt. Please understand that I am not advocating that you use keyword spamming in your pages. Avoid putting too many misspells and making the page look spammy. Use this technique with caution. Spamming keywords in your pages can get your pages banned from search engines.

MISSPELLED DOMAIN NAMES

Own a misspelled domain name. Some people make a fortune by owning some http://words.misspelt.org>misspelled words in domain names. A few good examples include www.insuranc.com, www.creditcrds.com and www.oprha.com (as in Oprah Winfrey).

However, you need to make sure those misspelled domain names are from the highly paid niche areas so you can monetize the traffic. One good misspelled domain names can provide you with a residual income in well over $100 per month ($1200 per year). Considering that you only pay around $10 for each domain name, a good misspelled domain can give you profit 120 times over.
