One of the more popular methods when making overseas calls is to simply head over to the nearest store that sells prepaid calling cards offering remarkably low rates per minute. As a whole, it seems to be a bargain, but is it really? With the influx of a variety of new options, many now find that they are sticking to their trusty prepaid cards simply out of familiarity, and wonder if they are being left behind as others save more money for better services.
Why use prepaid calling cards?
When making cheap calls to Brazil, there are really only two things that most people consider. Of the two, the more apparent is the cost of such a call, while the second is the general line quality that they receive. Most prepaid calling cards offer both competitive prices and general similar line quality as other options in that price range.
Therefore, the difference essentially boils down to the fact that it is prepaid. As such it appeals in very similar fashion to prepaid mobile phones, where many find that it is far easier to keep track of their spending habits. The downside of prepaid cards

Another, but less obvious, downside is that losing the prepaid card means a complete loss of all the purchased credit. Knowing this, it is wise to keep prepaid cards carefully if they are being used, because losing one is quite literally akin to throwing money away.
Bottom line: It amounts to a matter of taste. Prices between prepaid cards for cheap calls to Brazil and other options are close enough that the only real concern is whether a person fancies using prepaid options. Seeing as typical cards can be bought at values as low as five pounds, it can't hurt to try out one such card just to see if it really does suit.
