Don't give up on your designer gown because of wedding budget blues - purchase a pre-owned wedding dress for 50-75% less than you would pay in a bridal shop. He has finally proposed and you have accepted, the date for the wedding has been set and now the planning begins. It is time to start thinking about all of the different pieces that will go into making your wedding one to remember.
Now that you have a date and location set, you can start your step by step planning. You will probably start by searching for the perfect wedding dress. Maybe your mother or grandmother have saved their own wedding dresses and have offered them to you, but they are just not the right size or style that you want.
You can start looking for the wedding dress of your dreams at a local bridal shop. The variety of different styles and types gowns may be overwhelming at first making it hard to choose. In addition, the high cost for the wedding dress may be more than your budget can handle.
This is your special day and you really want the perfect wedding dress without spending thousands of dollars. You might want to consider purchasing a previously owned wedding dress for your special day.
You are probably thinking that this was not the way you planned this. But, you might want to reconsider your planning. The wedding dress is only worn one time and then it is put away never to be used again. What better way to lower the cost of your wedding than by purchasing a used wedding dress. You can expect that the wedding dress you purchase will be about one-half of what you would have paid 'new' in the bridal shop.
Then, if you want, you can resell the wedding dress after you are married. This continues to help you lower the price of the final dress you purchased and wore. But, you are thinking about the memories that were made in the dress and that maybe someday your own daughter will wear it at their wedding. Well, take a moment and think about why you did not wear your own mother's dress.
Consider buying a previously owned wedding dress and then selling it back. You will not only save money but will also be helping someone else in the long run. And, who knows, the wedding dress you buy and then sell may brighten the lives of many future brides.
